Patio Installation NKY
Patio Installation Cincinnati OH

If you want a patio that actually gets used and not just looked at from the kitchen window, you need a contractor who builds it right the first time. Garden Path has been installing patios across Cincinnati and Hamilton, OH for over 27 years. Same crew start to finish. No subcontractors handing the job off halfway through.

Whether it’s a small paver patio off the back door or a full outdoor living space with a fire pit, kitchen, and pergola, we handle the whole thing. Design, excavation, install, cleanup. You get one phone number and one team.

The right material depends on what you want, what your yard can handle, and what fits your budget. Here’s what we work with most:

Paver Patios. Concrete pavers from Belgard, Unilock, and Techo Bloc. Most popular pick around Cincinnati. They handle freeze and thaw cycles, last decades, and if a section ever shifts you can pull and reset just that part instead of redoing the whole patio.

Flagstone Patios. Natural stone with that organic, irregular look. Pairs well with mature landscaping and older Cincinnati homes that want something that looks like it’s always been there.

Travertine Patios. Stays cool in the summer and doesn’t get slick when wet. Solid pick for pool decks and patios that get full sun.

Stamped or Poured Concrete. Cheaper option that mimics stone or pavers. Works fine when it’s done right with proper expansion joints. Skip those and Ohio winters will crack it within a few years.

How the Process Works

  • Free on site visit. We measure, check drainage and grading, and listen to how you want to use the space.
  • Design and 3D rendering. You see the finished patio before we touch the yard.
  • Patios fail from the ground up, so we dig the right depth and compact a proper crushed gravel base.
  • Install. Pavers, stone, or concrete laid by our crew.
  • Polymeric sand and sealing. Locks the joints, keeps weeds and ants out, prevents washout.

Hardscape Features That Pair With Your Patio

Stone Steps. Whether you’re stepping down from the back door or transitioning between levels in the yard, stone steps tie the patio into the rest of the property. Bluestone, flagstone, or matching paver bricks all work. Just make sure the rise and run are consistent or every guest will trip on them.

Retaining Walls and Seat Walls. If your yard slopes, you’ll likely need a retaining wall to make the patio level. We build those out of natural stone, segmental block, or boulders depending on the look you want. Seat walls pull double duty as borders and extra seating around fire pits or kitchen islands.

Paver Brick Borders. A simple soldier course of paver bricks around the edge of the patio cleans up the look and locks the field pavers in place. Different color, same material, sharp finish.

Travertine and Stone Caps. For the top of seat walls, retaining walls, and step risers. Travertine caps stay cool underfoot and look custom without a custom price tag.

Fire Pits and Fireplaces. Built in fire pits use the same paver brick or stone as the patio so the whole space reads like one project, not three add ons stacked together.

Walkways. Connecting the driveway to the patio, the patio to the pool, or the side gate to the backyard. Same materials as the patio so the yard reads as one cohesive design.
