The Andersons had a big backyard and even bigger plans. With three kids and a love for hosting, they wanted more than a pool—they wanted a destination. Somewhere the family could spend entire summer days without ever needing to leave.
The property had good bones—over an acre of flat, open lawn—but zero infrastructure. No patio, no hardscape, no shade structures. Starting from scratch meant coordinating pool installation, extensive paver work, a full pool house build, and landscape design that tied it all together.
Drainage was the hidden complexity. With this much hardscape replacing lawn, we needed a system that moved water away from the pool and foundation without creating erosion issues on the sloped rear boundary.

Our Approach
We designed the space in zones: the pool as the centerpiece, a generous paver patio surrounding it on all sides, and a custom pool house anchoring the far end with an outdoor fireplace and bar seating.
Pool & Patio The 18×40 vinyl liner pool features a full-length tanning ledge and integrated steps. We surrounded it with over 2,400 square feet of Unilock Beacon Hill Flagstone pavers in a grey blend that keeps cool underfoot and complements the home’s stone exterior.
Pool House The structure includes a covered outdoor kitchen, stone fireplace with raised hearth seating, and a shaded lounge area. We matched the roof pitch and trim color to the main house for a cohesive look.
Landscaping Strategic evergreen plantings screen the fence line and add vertical interest. Foundation beds around the patio feature a mix of hydrangeas, ornamental grasses, and low-maintenance perennials. A dry creek bed along the southern edge handles runoff while adding a natural design element.
